BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the fourth time this season, Bridgewater State University junior Naomi Cass has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Cass captured the individual title to lead the BSU women's cross country team to a second place finish at the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Cross Country Championships held this past weekend at the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, Massachusetts. The Westport, Massachusetts product outdistanced the field of 58 runners as she completed the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:31.89.
Cass became the Bears' first repeat MASCAC champion since BSU Hall of Famer Molly Rouillard won three in a row from 2010-12.
The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the ninth of Cass' career as she also earned the honor five times during the 2023 campaign.
Following a weekend off, the BSU cross country teams will compete at the Division III East Region Championships held at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Contoocook, New Hampshire on Saturday, November 16th.
