Charleyne Panner Named MASCAC Volleyball Co-Player of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore setter Charleyne Panner has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Co-Player of the Week.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore setter Charleyne Panner has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Co-Player of the Week. Panner shares the weekly honor along with senior outside hitter Alyssa Jasper of Worcester State University.
Panner, who hails from Gilford, New Hampshire, averaged 35.7 assists, 8.7 digs, 3.7 kills and 2.3 aces in a 2-1 week for the Bears. She finished with a career-high 46 assists to go along with five aces, four kills and eight digs in a 3-2 victory over the University of Saint Joseph, added 40 assists, 11 digs, five kills, a pair of aces, and two assisted blocks in a 3-1 win over Mount Holyoke College, and registered 21 assists, seven digs and a pair of kills in a 3-0 setback to Colby-Sawyer College.
Through seven matches this season, Panner has amassed a MASCAC-leading 184 assists to go along with 24 kills, 13 aces and 39 digs. She is also tied for the conference lead with her 13 aces.
In 37 matches over two seasons at Bridgewater State, Panner has totaled 875 assists, 94 kills, 38 aces and 251 digs.
The BSU volleyball team is currently 4-3 on the young season. The Bears return to the court on Wednesday night as they host Daniel Webster College at seven.
