DePina Leads Volleyball at JWU Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Juior middle hitter Shelly DePina notched 23 kills to lead the Bridgewater State University volleyball team during day one action of the 2010 Johnson & Wales Invitational at the Harborside RAC on Friday evening.

Bridgewater State (1-1) posted a 3-2 victory over Keene State College and then dropped a 3-0 decision to host Johnson & Wales.

JWU posted a 2-0 record on the day as the Wildcats also defeated Wheaton College, 3-1.  Connecticut College is also 2-0 after the first day action while Bridgewater State is 1-1.

Action will start tomorrow for day two of the tournament at 10:00 a.m., when JWU takes on Connecticut College while Wheaton faces Bridgewater State.
