Krevosky Sets School Hurdles Record to Lead Bears at DIII New Englands

MIDDLEBURY, Mass. -- Senior Ariele Krevosky (Oxford, Mass.) set the school record and earned All-New England honors in the 60-meter hurdles to lead the Bridgewater State University women's indoor track & field team at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Middlebury College on Saturday.

Krevosky placed fourth in the finals of the hurdles with a time of 9.16 seconds as she eclipsed her previous mark of 9.22 seconds set last year.

Freshman Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) also garnered All-New England accolades for the Bears as she finished eighth in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 11.25 inches (5.16m).

The 4x400-meter relay squad featuring Andrews and juniors Amanda Lane (Abington, Mass.), Traci Perry (Middleboro, Mass.) and Abbie Pustis (Andover, Mass.) rounded out the Bears' All-New England performers on Saturday as they posted a time of 4:07.28 to place eighth in the event.

Andrews also finished tenth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.36), while senior Danielle Poto (North Andover, Mass.) placed ninth in the 5,000-meter run (18:09.56). Sophomore Kristin Leone (Weymouth, Mass.) posted a season-best mark of 16 feet, ten inches (5.13m) to finish tenth in the long jump, and junior Samantha Richner (Hanson, Mass.) tied for tenth in the high jump (5'0.25"/1.53m).

On Friday, Richner set the school record and earned All-New England honors in the pentathlon with a score of 3,105 points. She currently ranks 22nd in all of Division III in the event. 

The Bears finished 18th overall in the team standings with 11 points. MIT won the meet title with 123.3 points followed by Williams College (93.83 pts.) and host Middlebury (82 pts.).

Next weekend, qualifying members of the BSU women's track & field team will compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships hosted by Boston University.
