BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Four members of the Bridgewater State University women's tennis program have been selected to the 2025-2026 Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Tennis Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Earning the honor from Bridgewater State are juniors Samantha Bettencourt and Fiona Clancy as well as sophomores Aislyn Kelliher and Morgan Smith.
Bettencourt, Clancy, Kelliher and Smith are four of ten student-athletes from the Little East Conference (LEC) to earn the honor.
The 2025-2026 Academic All-District® Women’s Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for all-academic honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. A student-athlete must have also played in at least 70% of her team's head-to-head contests for the 2025-2026 season.
Bettencourt, who hails from Tiverton, Rhode Island, is a secondary education and spanish major with terrific 3.99 GPA. She is making her second straight appearance on the CSC Academic All-District® One Division III Women's Tennis Team.
Over her first three seasons with the Bears, Bettencourt is 29-11 (18-5 LEC) in singles competition and checks in with a 27-14 (18-6 LEC) doubles record.
A native of Middleboro, Massachusetts, Clancy checks in with a perfect 4.00 grade point average while majoring in english and secondary education.
Clancy is 10-9 (7-4 LEC) in doubles competition over her first two seasons on the BSU women's tennis team. She is also 2-0 (1-0 LEC) in singles competition.
Kelliher, who calls Plymouth, Massachusetts home, is a marketing major with an outstanding 3.90 GPA.
Over her first two seasons with the Bears, Kelliher has produced an 18-8 (13-2 LEC) singles record. She is also 16-13 (10-4) LEC in doubles competition.
A product of Taunton, Massachusetts, Smith sports a 3.83 GPA while majoring in marketing.
Smith is 10-5 (8-1 LEC) in singles competition with a 17-14 (10-4 LEC) doubles mark.
Bettencourt, Clancy, Kelliher and Smith helped the BSU women's tennis team post a 9-5 record in the fall of 2025 including a 7-1 conference mark. Seeded second in the Little East Tournament, the Bears dropped a tough 4-3 decision to third-seeded UMass Boston in the tournament semifinals.
