Four Bears Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.  --  Four members of the Bridgewater State University women's lacrosse team have been named to the 2026 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NCAA Division III Academic Honor Roll.

BSU graduate student Riley Bina; seniors Ashley Silva and Meredith Sylvia; and junior Kaylei Joseph are among the 1,350 student-athletes from 174 different Division III institutions to earn the accolade.

To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students and have earned a cumulative academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or greater.

A native of Abington, Massachusetts, Bina sports a remarkable 3.71 cumulative GPA after her second year of grad school as she earned a master's degree in educational leadership.

Silva, who resides in Rowley, Massachusetts, boasts a stellar 3.92 GPA. She graudated summa cum laude this past May with a degree in health science.

Sylvia, who hails from South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, graduated magna cum laude in May with a degree in physical education. She checks in with a terrific 3.63 GPA.

A resident of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Joseph is a health science major and claims an impressive 3.98 GPA.

The BSU women's lacrosse team is also one of 357 schools from across Division I, II, III and the NAIA to be recognized as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the 2025-2026 academic year. The award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by teams with cumulative grade point averages (GPA) of 3.2 or better for the academic year.

The Bears recorded a team GPA of 3.44 in 2025-2026. Eighteen of the 23 players on the roster posted a GPA above a 3.40, and both Silva and sophomore Abbey Benotti (Nashua, N.H.) recorded a perfect 4.0 this past spring semester.
