Reese Bartlett Named to the NEWBA Team of The Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University sophomore guard Reese Bartlett has been selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Team of the Week.

A resident of Norwood, Massachusetts, Bartlett averaged 15.5 points, six rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals in a perfect 2-0 week for the Bears while shooting 41.2% (7-17) from the floor, 30% (3-10) from behind the arc and 82.4% (14-17) at the free throw line.

Bartlett notched 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a blocked shot in a 73-66 Massachusetts State College athletic Conference (MASCAC) win over Westfield State. She also notched career highs of 19 points and five assists to go along with eight rebounds and four steals in a 66-57 conference road victory over Framingham State.

Through 16 games this season, including 12 starts, Bartlett is averaging 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 31.4% (16-51) from behind the arc and  81% (17-21) at the free throw line. She currently ranks sixth in the MASCAC in three-point shooting.

On Monday, Bartlett was named the MASCAC Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

The BSU women's basketball team is currently 7-9 on the season and a perfect 6-0 in the MASCAC. The Bears entertain conference rival Worcester State University on Wednesday evening at 5:30.
