BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University senior Angelina Lynch (Taunton, Mass.) has been named to the All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference first team in softball.
The center fielder, who is the lone Bears' representative on the all-conference team, had previously earned All-MASCAC second team honors twice in her career.
Lynch and the Bears (18-21) are in the double-elimination portion of the MASCAC tourney and will play at Worcester State University Thursday at 4 p.m.
A starter in all 39 games, Lynch is second on the team with a .361 average and 43 hits. She leads the Bears with 42 runs scored, a .447 on-base percentage and a .622 slugging percentage.
Lynch, the leadoff hitter, has stolen 21 bases in 23 tries and has 10 doubles, six triples and three home runs while driving in 19 runs.
After playing the 2023 season at Framingham State University, Lynch transferred to BSU where she has appeared in 100 games.
Lynch is 107-for-300 with the Bears for a three-year average of .357. She has 26 doubles to go with nine triples and seven homers at BSU.
Lynch has been caught stealing only five times in 60 attempts with the Bears and has a .432 on-base percentage and a .573 slugging percentage at BSU.
As a freshman at Framingham State in '23, Lynch helped the Rams win the MASCAC regular-season and tournament championship.
She made the all-conference second team as a rookie, hitting .322 with 39 hits, including nine doubles, four triples and four homers.
Lynch also made the All-MASCAC second team as a junior at BSU when she hit .376 with 26 stolen bases, 11 doubles, one triple and three homers.
Westfield State senior Sarah Hough is the conference's Player of the Year while teammate Angelina Vartuli, a sophomore, is the Pitcher of the Year.
Salem State freshman pitcher Charlie Benesh is the Rookie of the Year while the BSN Sports Coach of the Year is Westfield State's Joe Hough.
