BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University senior Kevin McBirney has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

McBirney placed 11th out of a field of 237 harriers this past weekend at the Keene State Invitational. The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts native covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25:30.7 as he helped the Bears to a fourth place finish in the team standings.

The MASCAC Runner of the Week accolade marks the seventh of McBirney's career as he also earned the honor four times during the 2023 campaign.

Following a weekend off, the BSU men's cross country team will compete at the Connecticut College Invitational held at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.
