Spofford Excels at Wheaton Invitational

NORTON, Mass. -- Senior Stephen Spofford (Chelmsford, Mass.) captured the meet title in the 400-meter dash on Saturday at the Wheaton Invitational.

Spofford posted a 400 time of 51.26 seconds to outdistance a field of 27 sprinters. He also placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.03 seconds.

Spofford was the only member of the BSU men's track & field team to compete on Saturday as the majority of the squad competed yesterday at the Reggie Open held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

The BSU men's track & field team is back in action next weekend as the Bears will compete at the Tufts Cupid Challenge as well as the Harvard Open.
