BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman Matthew Cronin (Weymouth, Mass.) placed eighth in the shot put at the season-opening BSU Bears Invitational on Friday afternoon at cold and rainy Swenson Field.

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman Matthew Cronin (Weymouth, Mass.) placed eighth in the shot put at the season-opening BSU Bears Invitational on Friday afternoon at cold and rainy Swenson Field.

Cronin posted a mark of 42 feet, 6.25 inches (12.96m) as he was the only Bear to advance to the finals.

The hammer throw was cancelled due to poor conditions around the throwing area.

The BSU Bears Invitational continues on Saturday morning with events getting underway at 9:00 AM.
