Chukwu, Murtagh, Perry Garner All-American Honors at NCAA Indoor Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Senior Chris Perry (Attleboro, Mass.) and juniors Conor Murtagh (Walpole, Mass.) and Chinedu Chukwu (Randolph, Mass.) earned All-American honors during the second and final day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Perry placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 48 feet, 4.75 inches (14.75 meters). It marked the second All-America accolade for Perry in as many days as he also finished third in the long jump on Friday.

Murtagh placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 8.09 seconds. He posted a preliminary and BSU indoor record time of 7.96 seconds on Friday.

Chukwu finished in eighth place in the 60-meter dash with a mark of 6.94 seconds. He recorded a preliminary time of 6.92 seconds on Friday.

The Bears finished tied with Southern Maine for sixth place in the team standings with 20 points. It marked the highest placing by a BSU indoor or outdoor track & field team at an NCAA Championship meet in the history of the program.

Perry accounted for 14 of the 20 team points, while Murtagh tallied five and Chukwu one.
