Wahome, Danner-Hicks Lead Men's Track & Field at ECAC Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Stephen Wahome and Joshua Danner-Hicks earned All-ECAC honors to lead the Bridgewater State University men's outdoor track and field during day one of the 2013 ECAC Division III Championships held at Springfield College on Thursday.

In his final collegiate meet, Wahome placed eighth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 3:11.00.

Danner-Hicks finished eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 46 feet, 9.5 inches (14/26 meters).  His season-best triple jump mark of 47 feet, seven inches (14.50 meters), set at the MASCAC/Alliance Championships, currently ranks 13th in all of Division III.

Wahome and Danner-Hicks were the only BSU athletes to score in the meet as the Bears are tied for 31st place heading into Friday with a score of two points.  Tufts University is in first place with 34.33 points, followed by Moravian College (26 pts.) and Bates College (25 pts.).

Matt Horan (15.18), Conor Murtagh (15.21) and Daniel Coulter (15.69) placed 21st, 23rd and 32nd, respectively, in the  110-meter hurdles.  Cedric Lamour finished 20th in the triple jump (44'4.25").

The Bears 4x400-meter relay team of Andrew Corley, Ian Knapton, Christopher Naughton and Kevin Sawyer placed 21st with a time of 3:24.72.
