Desmond Ng Named Little East Men's Swimmer of the Week
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Desmond Ng has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Swimmer of the Week.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Desmond Ng has been selected as the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Ng captured top honors in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:25.81 last week as the Bears split a tri-meet hosted by Keene State College. The Petaling Jaya, Malaysia native also placed second in the 200 backstroke (2:03.39) and fourth in the 1,000 freestyle (12:10.85) at the meet.
Earlier in the week, Ng placed first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:16.26 and finished second in the 200 butterfly as the Bears dropped a 184-78 decision to Eastern Connecticut State University. He also swam the breaststroke leg (27.21) on the third-place 200 medley relay squad.
The Little East Swimmer of the Week honor marks the first of Ng's career. He has been selected LEC Rookie of the Week four times this season.
In upcoming action, the BSU swimming and diving teams host Division II Bentley University on Wednesday evening at six o'clock.
