BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the third time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman forward Cameron Walty has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.
A native of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Walty scored a goal and dished out his first collegiate assist in the Bears’ 4-1 MASCAC win on the road this past weekend over Fitchburg State University.
In 13 games this season, including six starts, Walty has three goals (one game-winner) and an assist for seven points. He is tied for fourth on the team in goals and tied for sixth in scoring.
Walty also garnered MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors back on September 22nd and September 29th.
The BSU men's soccer team is currently 10-5-1 on the season and 5-1-1 in the MASCAC standings. The Bears wrap up regular season play on Saturday at home against conference rival Framingham State University. The game is slated to get underway at noon.
