BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior defensive end Jorge Aquino and senior kicker Joey Naso have been selected to the 2025 D3football.com All-Region One Team.
Aquino, who is making his first appearance on the D3football.com All-Region One Team, is just the second player in program history to garner first team honors joining former teammate Shane Drake (2024). Naso, a third team selection, is also a first-time honoree as well as the first kicker in program history to earn the accolade.
Aquino and Naso are among eight student-athletes from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) to earn the accolade.
The D3football.com All-Region One Team, selected in balloting by Region One sports information directors and D3football.com staff, was chosen from 163 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 77 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Monday, December 22, 2025.
NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region One includes the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC), Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).
In ten games this season, Aquino notched 53 tackles (32 solo) with nine sacks, 15 tackles for loss, six pass breakups and five quarterback hurries. The Bergenfield, New Jersey native led the MASCAC in both sacks and tackles for loss.
On a national level, Aquino tied for 22nd in all of Division III in sacks per game (0.9) and tied for 31st in tackles for loss per game (1.5).
In 30 games over his first three seasons with the Bears, Aquino has amassed 118 tackles (59 solo), 14 sacks, 23 tackles for loss, ten pass breakups and 21 quarterback hurries.
Naso converted 8 of 11 field goals attempts this season with a long of 42 yards, and connected on 36 of 39 point after touchdowns. He also averaged 28.7 yards on 30 punts with a long of 63 yards, six punts inside the twenty and 11 fair catches.
A native of Hopewell Junction, New York, Naso led the MASCAC in PAT percentage (.947) and ranked second in made field goals, field goal percentage (.727) and made PATs. He also tied for 33rd in all of Division III in field goal percentage and tied for 46th in made field goals per game (0.8).
In 38 games over four seasons with the Bears, Naso converted 136 of 143 point after touchdowns and went 14-for-20 on field goal attempts. He wraps up his career as the Bears' all-time leader in made PATs, PAT percentage (.951) and points by a kicker (178). He also ranks 15th among the Bears' all-time scoring leaders.
The BSU football team posted a 5-5 record in 2025 including 5-4 MASCAC mark as the Bears tied for fifth in the conference standings.
