Bridgewater State Men's Lacrosse Club Names Captains for 2018 Season

Bridgewater, MA -

Ryan Duarte, Joe Marmion, and Jacob Fudge were named Captains for 2017-2018 season of Bridgewater State University Mens Lacrosse. BSU alums and former BSU Men’s Lacrosse Captains Dan Warren ’98, Matt Strzepka ’96 and Greg Keefe ’03, were on hand to introduce the new captains to the team, parents and alumni.

Ryan Duarte, a Senior, is a three year starter at close defense and returns for his 3rd year as a team captain.  Ryan was named a Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League D2 1st Team All-Conference Defenseman in 2017 following an Honorable Mention PCLL D2 All-Conference selection in 2016.  Ryan is a Criminal Justice major.

Senior Joe Marmion is a three year starting goaltender for the team. This is his first season as a captain. Joe is a 2-time Mens’ Collegiate Lacrosse Association D2 Honorable Mention All-American selection, a 2016 MCLA Scholar Athlete, a 2-time Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League D2 1st team All-Conference selection, and the 2016 PCLL D2 Defensive Player of the Year. Joe is a Criminal Justice major.

Jacob Fudge, also a Senior, has been a 3-year contributor as running a regular shift in the BSU midfield.  This is Jacob’s first selection as a team captain.  He is an Officer of the BSU Men’s Lacrosse Executive Board and is Business major.

The new captains were announced as a part of the Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Game which is held annually as a part of BSU’s Homecoming and Family Day celebration. Over 40 alumni came back to take on 2017-18 team and to play in the first Alumni vs. Alumni game. The games were dedicated to the memory of two former BSU Men’s Lacrosse players Jesse Andrade and Jason Ratikin, both of whom passed away in recent months.
