BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- For the second straight week and an impressive fifth time this season, Bridgewater State University freshman Jenise Madden has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Madden finished as the Bears’ top rookie runner at the Connecticut College Invitational held this past weekend at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut. The Milford, Massachusetts product covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 24:38.4 to finish 117th out of a field of 259 runners. 

After a week off, Madden and the BSU women's cross country team will compete at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Fitchburg State University on October 29th.
