BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University freshman Joshua Moore has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week.
A native of Cape May, New Jersey, Moore captured top honors in the javelin and placed 11th in the long jump at the season-opening Tufts Snowflake Classic held this past weekend at the Dussault Track & Field Complex.
In his outdoor collegiate debut, Moore recorded a mark of 179 feet, nine inches (54.80m) in the javelin to win the event. He also posted a leap of 20 feet, 3.75 inches (6.19m) in the long jump.
Moore is currently ranked fifth in the New England in the javelin and 26th in all of Division III. He qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the javelin.
The outdoor season continues for the BSU men's track & field team this coming Saturday when the Bears compete at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic.
