Josh Goehring Named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Bridgewater State University sophomore Josh Goehring has been selected as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Goehring placed sixth in the 800-meter run at the Larry Elllis Invitational hosted by Princeton University over the weekend.  The Haverhill, Massachusetts native posted a time of 1:53.58 which currently ranks 20th in all of Division III.  He also qualified for the New England Division III Championships, ECAC Division III Championships and NEICAAA Championships in the event.

Goehring is presently the school indoor record holder in both the 500-meter dash (1:05.49) and 600-meter run (1:21.79).  Both marks were set this past winter season.  He was also a part of the Bears’ record-setting 4 x 400-meter relay team (3:27.87) during the indoor season and the 4 x 800-meter relay squad (7:52.81) in the spring of 2012.

Goehring and the Bridgewater State men’s outdoor track & field team will compete at MASCAC/New England Alliance Championship meet on Saturday at BSU’s Swenson Field.
