Men's Swimming & Diving in 11th Place at NEISDA Championships

SOUTH KINGSTON, R.I. -- Freshman Andrew Hebert (Lincoln, R.I.) placed tenth in the 400 individual medley to lead the Bridgewater State University men's swimming & diving team during day two of the 2015 New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championships on Saturday.

Hebert posted a time of 4:45.14 in the 400 individual medley as he was the Bears' highest individual place-winner on the day.  

Junior Eric Ford (Oakville, Conn.) added a 14th place performance in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.04), while senior Charlie MacDonald (Braintree, Mass.) placed 16th overall in the 100 backstroke (1:01.25).

The Bears' 200 medley relay team featuring Ford and freshmen Charles Anderson (Avon, Conn.), Hunter Goodrich (Stoughton, Mass.) and Benjamin O'Connor (East Longmeadow, Mass.) finished ninth in the event with a time of 1:46.56.

The men's squad is in 11th place with 98 team points after day two.  Keene State leads the way with 720 points with Roger Williams (444 pts.) in second place and Norwich University (352.5 pts.) in third.

The BSU women's team is currently in ninth place with 331 points following the second day of competition.  Keene State College sits atop the team standings with 1,146.5 points followed by Roger Williams University (998.5 pts.) and Simmons College (725 pts.).

The three-day championship event concludes on Sunday with the preliminary round getting underway at ten.
