Week Ahead: Monday, April 13 to Sunday, April 19

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Here's a look at the week ahead (April 13-19) for the Bridgewater State University athletics teams:

TUESDAY

BASEBALL, at Salem State, 3:00 PM: After being idle since last Wednesday, the Bears play a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference road game.

BSU (16-5) is on an 11-game winning streak, the program's longest since 2012, and is 10-1 in the conference. The Bears lead second-place Anna Maria (10-2) by a half-game.

BSU swept a doubleheader at home against Salem State on April 7, 8-6 and 10-0.

The Vikings are 10-11 and 6-5 in the MASCAC.

SOFTBALL, at home, Salem State (DH), 3:00: The Bears play the first of three doubleheaders this week, hosting the Vikings.

BSU is 14-10 and 5-1 in the MASCAC, one game behind first-place Westfield State (6-0) and one game ahead of Salem State (4-2).

The Vikings are 17-10 overall and enter the week with a two-game winning streak.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, 7:00 PM: The Bears and Buccaneers meet in a makeup game at Clean Harbors Stadium. The game was originally scheduled to be played March 25.

BSU is on a four-game losing streak and is 3-10 overall, 1-2 in the MASCAC. This is the next-to-last road game for the Bears.

Mass. Maritime is 0-9 and 0-3 in the conference.

WEDNESDAY

MEN'S TENNIS, at Salem State, 3:00 PM: The Bears take a three-match winning streak on the road to face the Vikings.

BSU is 5-4 and 2-0 in the Little East while Salem State is 4-4 and 2-1 in the conference, losing to UMass Boston in its last match.

THURSDAY

BASEBALL, at home, Mass. College of Liberal Arts, 3:30 PM: The Bears and Trailblazers play three games in a row starting with this one.

BSU won all three games against MCLA last season.

The Trailblazers are 8-11 and 2-8 in the MASCAC with five losses in a row.

SOFTBALL, at UMass Boston (DH), 3:30 PM: The Bears will be in Boston for a non-conference doubleheader at the UMass Boston Softball Field.

BSU has dropped six games in a row to the Beacons, last winning in 2022.

UMass Boston is 13-5 and entered the week with three straight victories. The Beacons play in the Little East Conference and are 2-2.

FRIDAY

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at home, BSU Bears Invitational, 11:00 AM: BSU won seven events at the 2025 meet it hosted.

The lone returning winner is sophomore Bella Grover (Warren, Mass.), who was first in the high jump.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at home, BSU Bears Invitational, 11:00 AM: The Bears host their meet after having nine first-place finishers in 2025.

The returning athletes who won last season include senior Ryker King (Wareham, Mass.), junior Brian Vale (Assonet, Mass.), junior Matthew Mooney (Douglas, Mass.) and senior Mitchell Parent (Cumberland Center, Maine).

SATURDAY

BASEBALL, at the Mass. College of Liberal Arts (DH), Noon: The Trailblazers began the week with a 2-4 record at home.

MEN'S TENNIS, at home, UMass Boston, Noon: The Bears defeated the Beacons twice last season, 8-1, and then 5-0 in the semifinal round of the Little East tournament.

BSU has six straight wins over UMass Boston (5-6, 1-1 in the conference).

SOFTBALL, at the Mass. College of Liberal Arts (DH), Noon: The Bears will be at Shewcraft Field for a MASCAC doubleheader.

BSU defeated MCLA, 12-4 and 3-2, last season.

The Trailblazers begin the week with an 8-0 record at home. MCLA is 14-10 and 4-2 in the MASCAC.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at home, Fitchburg State, 5:00 PM: It will be Senior Day at Mazzaferro Field as BSU plays its next-to-last home game.

The Bears defeated the Falcons, 21-10, last season.

Fitchburg State enters the week with two straight wins and is 6-7 and 1-2 in the MASCAC.
