BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Here's a look at the week ahead (March 23-29) for the Bridgewater State University athletics teams:
TUESDAY
SOFTBALL, at UMass Dartmouth (DH), 2:30 PM: BSU (8-4) takes a three-game winning streak to Dartmouth to take on the Corsairs.
UMass Dartmouth is 8-2 with two straight wins and will be playing for the first time since returning home from Florida.
The Bears have gone 0-7-1 against the Corsairs since 2022. Their last win in the series was in 2019.
BASEBALL, at home, Mass. Maritime, 3:00 PM: The Bears begin the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule by hosting the Buccaneers.
The teams met six times in 2025. BSU won the regular-season series, 2-1.
In the MASCAC tournament, the Buccaneers sent the Bears to the loser's bracket, 10-0, and BSU won twice in the championship round, 12-3 and 15-3.
Mass. Maritime opened the week with a 6-4 record.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at home, UMass Dartmouth, 6:00 PM: The Bears (1-6) will look to end a four-game losing streak when they host the Corsairs (3-4) at Mazzaferro Field.
BSU, which is 0-4 at home, defeated UMass Dartmouth, 17-11, last season and has seven straight wins over the Corsairs.
WEDNESDAY
MEN'S TENNIS, at home, Wheaton College, 3:00 PM: The Bears (1-1) play their second match in the spring semester, hosting the Lyons.
The teams are playing for the first time since 2015 when Wheaton was a 9-0 winner.
The Lyons will be playing for the first time since their Florida trip. They are 5-2 with three straight wins.
FRIDAY
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, 10:00 AM; at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, 2:30 PM: The Bears begin the outdoor season by sending athletes to a pair of meets.
BSU will be represented at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, which is hosted by Gordon College at the Brigham Athletic Complex in Wenham, Mass.
The Bears will also compete at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, hosted by Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Jonathan Tymann Invitational, 10:00 AM; at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, 2:30 PM: BSU kicks off the 2026 outdoor season with meets in Wenham, Mass., and Atlanta, Ga.
BASEBALL, at Fitchburg State, 3:00 PM: The Bears open a three-game series with the Falcons.
BSU won three games against Fitchburg State a year ago by scores of 10-4, 8-3 and 6-3.
SATURDAY
EQUESTRIAN, at the IHSA Zone 1 Region 4 Championships, 9:00 AM: The Bears will be at the Walnut Hill Farm in Plainville, Mass., for the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Zone 1, Region 4 Championships.
Last season, BSU finished sixth with Emily Desmond and Abigail Abbott competing in Storrs, Conn.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, 9:15 AM: The Bears finish their two-day stay in Georgia at the meet hosted by Emory University.
MEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Emory Thrills in the Hills, 9:15 AM: BSU concludes its two days at the Emory meet in Georgia.
BASEBALL, at home, Fitchburg State (DH), Noon: The Bears face the Falcons in a pair of MASCAC games at Alumni Park.
The Falcons open the week 2-10 with six straight losses.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at Anna Maria, Noon: The Bears travel to Paxton, Mass., to face the AMCATS, a MASCAC newcomer this season.
Anna Maria will be playing its first MASCAC game when it goes against BSU.
The AMCATS are 1-8 with three losses in a row entering the week.
SOFTBALL, at home, Fitchburg State (DH), 12:30 PM: The Bears being the MASCAC schedule by hosting the Falcons at Alumni Park.
BSU swept a pair of games from Fitchburg State a year ago, 13-5 and 11-3.
The Falcons opened the week 1-9 with seven losses in a row.
MEN'S TENNIS, at home, Southern Maine, 1:00 PM: The Bears begin a busy weekend by hosting the Huskies in the Little East Conference opener.
BSU won in Maine last season, 8-1. Southern Maine (0-1) has lost eight straight matches to the Bears.
SUNDAY
MEN'S TENNIS, at Brandeis University, 2:00 PM: The Bears and Judges meet for the first time since April 29, 2021 when Brandeis defeated BSU, 9-0.
