BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Here's a look at the week ahead (Feb. 9-15) for the Bridgewater State University athletics teams:
MONDAY
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, at home, Connecticut College, 5:30 PM: The Bears play their final non-conference game of the regular season, hosting the Camels.
Connecticut College, a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference, is 13-9 and 4-5 in the conference.
The Bears have won 10 straight games to improve to 11-9 and lead the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference at 10-0.
This will be the annual Play4Kay Game to raise cancer awareness in honor of Kay Yow, the late North Carolina State women's basketball coach.
WEDNESDAY
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, at the Mass. College of Liberal Arts, 5:00 PM: The Bears play three of their final four games on the road, starting with the trip to North Adams, Mass.
The Trailblazers are 4-21 and 1-11 in the MASCAC with 12 straight losses.
BSU defeated MCLA, 74-25, on Jan. 17 at the Tinsley Center.
MEN'S BASKETBALL, at the Mass. College of Liberal Arts, 7:00 PM: The Bears bid for the season sweep against the Trailblazers after winning at home, 90-72, on Jan. 17.
BSU is 7-14 and 5-5 in the MASCAC with four regular-season games remaining.
MCLA is 6-13 and 3-7 in the conference.
THURSDAY
WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 7:00 PM: The Bears open the four-day conference championship meet at Babson College with the 3-meter diving event.
BSU senior Cailey Simard (Haverill, Mass.) has been the Little East Diver of the Year three straight seasons after setting conference and school records while winning the 1-meter and 3-meter events in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The Bears have a strong diving group with sophomore Gianna Varady (Highland Park, N.J.) and freshman Sienna DeLucia (Wallingford, Conn.) also qualifying for the NCAA Northeast/North Regionals this month with Simard.
MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 7:00 PM: Senior Robbie Soucy (Frye Island, Maine) will represent the Bears at the 3-meter diving competition to kick off the four-day Little East Championships at Babson College.
Last season, Soucy was the conference Rookie Diver of the Year after placing third on the 3-meter board and fourth on the 1-meter board.
FRIDAY
WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM: The conference meet switches to the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley for the final three days of competition.
The Bears had 704 points and finished second for the fourth straight year last February behind Keene State.
MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 10:00 and 6:30 PM: The Bears had their streak of three straight Little East titles ended last season.
BSU finished with 742 points and trailed Eastern Connecticut State and Maine Maritime Academy.
WRESTLING, at Rhode Island College tri-match: The Bears will be in Providence, R.I., to go against Trinity College of Connecticut at 6:30 p.m. and host Rhode Island College at 8 p.m.
Trinity is ranked seventh in the New England Wrestling Association while RIC is 14th, one spot ahead of BSU.
SATURDAY
WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM: The third day will include the 1-meter diving preliminary and final events in morning and night sessions at Babson.
MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM: The Bears take part in the 1-meter diving preliminary and final and other swimming events in two sessions on the third day.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, at Westfield State, Noon: The Bears make their second trip west in four days, facing the Owls.
BSU defeated Westfield State, 73-66, at the Tinsley Center on Jan. 21.
The Owls are 14-7, 6-4 in the MASCAC, and are 7-2 at home.
MEN'S BASKETBALL, at Westfield State, 2:00 PM: The Owls open the week on top of the MASCAC standings at 8-2, one game ahead of Worcester State.
Westfield State is 16-5 overall and defeated the Bears in Bridgewater, 101-72, on Jan. 21.
SUNDAY
WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM: The championship will be determined on the final day which includes preliminary races in the morning and finals in the evening.
MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING, Little East Championships, 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM: The four-day event concludes with the crowning of the 2025-26 champion at Babson College.
WRESTLING, at the New England Wrestling Association Futures Tournament, 10:00 AM: The Bears travel to the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut for the annual tourney.
Vermont State Castleton was the winner a year ago when the event was held in Springfield, Mass.
WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD, MASCAC Championships, 5:00 PM: The championship meet will take place on Sunday evening at Wheaton College with defending champion Westfield State serving as the host school. The meet has been canceled three times in the past five years, twice because of weather (2023, 2025) and once due to COVID (2021).
The Bears last won the conference indoor title in 2022 and captured three straight crowns from 2014 to 2016.
Westfield has captured 18 of the 25 MASCAC indoor championships since the meet's inception in 1998.
Men's Indoor Track & Field, MASCAC Championships, 5:00 PM: The championship meet will take place on Sunday evening at Wheaton College with Westfield State serving as the host school. The meet has been canceled three times in the past five years, twice because of weather (2023, 2025) and once due to COVID (2021).
The five-time defending champion Bears will look to make it six straight titles and eight overall.
Westfield has captured 16 of the 24 MASCAC indoor championships since the meet's inception in 1999 including 14 straight from 1999 to 2012.
