Week Ahead: Monday, Apr. 14 to Sunday, Apr. 20

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Here's a look at the week ahead (April 14-20) for the Bridgewater State University athletics teams:

MONDAY

BASEBALL, at home, Fitchburg State, 2:00 and 4:30 PM: A doubleheader originally scheduled for Saturday will take place at Alumni Park.

This kicks off a week of six games in seven days for the Bears.

BSU is on a five-game winning streak and is 14-7, including 5-1 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Falcons are 8-10 and 2-4 in the MASCAC.

SOFTBALL, at home, Fitchburg State, 3:00 and 5:00 PM: The Bears resume the MASCAC schedule with a doubleheader that was postponed on Saturday.

BSU has dropped seven straight games and is 8-12, including 1-3 in the conference. The Falcons are 4-21 and 2-2 in the MASCAC.

Fitchburg State swept the Bears last season, 3-2 in nine innings, and 4-0.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at Fitchburg State, 5:00 PM: The Bears play for the first time since April 4.

BSU has dropped two straight games and is 9-3, 1-1 in the MASCAC, while the Falcons are 2-9 and 1-1 in the conference.

BSU defeated Fitchburg State last season, 19-10.

Bears coach Erica Adams enters the week tied for the program lead in career wins with 92, equal with Erika Smith.

TUESDAY

MEN'S TENNIS, at Rhode Island College, 3:30 PM: The Bears and Anchormen square off in a rematch of the Little East Conference final won by BSU last spring.

The teams have not lost in the conference this season with RIC (5-1 overall) atop the standings at 3-0 and BSU (4-3) second at 2-0.

The Anchormen are on a five-game winning streak after losing the season opener while the Bears are on a three-game winning streak.

BASEBALL, at the Mass. Maritime Academy, 3:30 PM: BSU puts its 7-1 road record on the line against the Buccaneers (13-12, 4-3 MASCAC).

The Bears dropped a doubleheader in Bourne last season, 8-5 and 16-7, before defeating Mass. Maritime at home, 19-9.

WEDNESDAY

WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at Salem State, 4:00 PM: The Bears, who are 5-1 on the road, play their final away game of the regular season.

The Vikings are 8-4 and 0-1 in the MASCAC BSU defeated Salem State, 22-4, last season.

THURSDAY

BASEBALL, at Gordon College, 3:00 PM: The Bears travel to Wenham for a non-conference game with Fighting Scots.

BSU split a pair with Gordon last season, losing the opener, 10-7, before winning the nightcap, 12-1.

Gordon, a member of the Conference of New England, is 14-13.

FRIDAY

BASEBALL, Worcester State, 3:30 PM: The Bears host the Lancers in the opener of a three-game MASCAC series.

BSU defeated Worcester State, 16-7, in the conference tournament last season after winning two of three games in the regular season.

The Lancers are 15-6, including 6-2 in the conference.

SATURDAY

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD/WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD, at the Tufts Sunshine Classic, 10:00 AM: The Bears teams tune up for the upcoming MASCAC Championships by competing in Medford.

The BSU teams were also at Tufts on March 29 for the Snowflake Classic.

The Bears host the MASCACs on April 25.

SOFTBALL, at Worcester State, Noon and 2:00 PM: The Bears play their first road games since April 6.

The Lancers are 10-9 and 1-3 in the conference with a 4-0 home record entering the week.

MEN'S TENNIS, Western Connecticut, 1:00 PM: The Bears play their next-to-last home game of the regular season.

BSU defeated Western Connecticut, 7-2, last season.

Western Connecticut is 4-6 and 1-1 in the Little East and began the week with a three-game winning streak.

BASEBALL, at Worcester State, Noon and 2:00 PM: The Bears won on their only wqvisit to Worcester State last season, 13-7, building a 9-0 lead in the first four innings.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE, at home, Framingham State, 1:00 PM: The Bears will host the Breast Cancer Awareness Game when they face Framingham State at Mazzaferro Field.

This is the first of three straight home games to end the regular season.

The Lancers are 6-5 and 2-0 in the MASCAC after winning the regular-season title in 2024.

BSU lost twice to Worcester State, 24-11, and then 14-7 in the semifinal round of the tourney.
