BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University women's tennis team will take on Endicott College in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament. Pairings for the 50-team national tournament were announced on Monday evening.

Bridgewater will face Endicott in first round action on Friday, May 10th (11:00 AM) at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  The winner of the match will advance to face Bowdoin on Saturday.

The Bears, who are making their second NCAA Tournament appearance in the last three seasons and third overall, are currently 13-2 on the season.  The Gulls (18-3) are in the tournament for the second straight year and third time overall.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Barry Gorman (5th Year), Bridgewater earned the automatic qualification (AQ) into the NCAAs by virtue of winning the Little East Conference Tournament this past fall.  Gorman has directed his teams to an overall record of 63-14 (.818) as he is the all-time winningest coach on program history.

The Bears are led by junior top flight singles and doubles player Jenna Williamson (Ludlow, Mass.).  Williamson, the Little East Player of the Year and one of six Bears named to the All-Little East Team, paced the Bridgewater State lineup with an overall record of 13-1, including an 8-0 mark against conference competition. She also teamed with senior Lauren Hopp (Dartmouth, Mass.) to post an 11-4 doubles record with a 7-1 mark in conference play.

Endicott advanced to the NCAA Tournament by capturing their second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference championship.  Head Coach Jeremy Howard’s (1st Year) Gulls are led by All-CCC selection Emilie Cloutier (Lewiston, Maine).  Cloutier, a junior, is 11-6 on the season with an 8-5 mark at first singles.  She is also 16-2 in doubles play with a 13-2 record at the second flight.
