Matthew Horan Named MASCAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Bridgewater State University junior Matthew Horan was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Horan captured the 110-meter hurdles and high jump titles at the Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational this past weekend. The Billerica, Massachusetts native posted a time of 15.12 seconds in the hurdles as he qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships in the event. Horan won the high jump with a leap of five feet, 9.69 inches (1.77 meters).

Earlier in the season, Horan qualified for the ECAC Championships in the high jump as well.  He currently holds two individual school indoor records in the 55-meter hurdles (7.88) and the 60-meter hurdles (8.43).

The season continues for Horan and the BSU men's track and field team as the Bears travel to Fitchburg State University for the Eric Loeschner Memorial Meet.
