Bridgewater State and Elms Honor Sandy Hook Victims

Bridgewater State and Elms Honor Sandy Hook Victims

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- When Bridgewater State and Elms College hit the pool on January 9th, both teams will be wearing the same cap.  The decision was made in part because both campuses have been affected by the December 14th tragedy.

BSU Head coach Michael Caruso and Beth Yohai (K & B Sports) have designed a swimming cap for both teams to wear as a tribute to everyone that was affected by the tragedy.

"Bridgewater State University has been known as an institution that has put forth many teachers throughout the United States and across the world," Caruso explained.  "We feel it is important to honor and support all the teachers, staff, students, and families of Sandy Hook Elementary School and the residents of Newtown, Connecticut."

The teams will be asking for donations at the meet on January 9, 2013 to help cover the cost of the swimming caps for both teams.  Any donations over and above the cost of the caps will go directly to the United Way of Western Connecticut and the Sandy Hook School Support Fund.

If you are unable to attend you can send a donation to:
